Communications Regulatory Commission of Mongolia Delegations Meets with Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority

The Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC) of Mongolia concluded a successful visit to Singapore on May 28, 2024. Led by Mr. Luvsan-Ochir A, Commissioner and Head of the Executive Office, the delegation included key figures from the CRC's various departments:

  • Mr. Chuluunbat Ts, Head of the Internet Network and Service Division
  • Ms. Oyungerel Ch, Head of the Research Division, Market and Tariff Regulation Department
  • Ms. Altai, Senior Specialist, Broadcast Regulatory Policy and Planning Division
  • Ms. Nyamdulam, Senior Specialist, Legal Division

The Mongolian delegation held a productive meeting with officials from Singapore's Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). The IMDA delegation was led by Ms. Aileen Chia, Deputy Chief Executive of Connectivity Development and Regulation, Director-General (Telecoms and Post), and Ms. Evelin Goh, Director of International Relations, Policy and Strategy.

During the meeting, the CRC presented insights into Mongolia's telecommunications and digital transformation policies, CRC activities, access to telecommunications services, and the market landscape. The IMDA shared strategic directions on various fronts, including:

  • Types and categories of telecommunications and broadcasting licenses
  • The legal framework for personal data protection and regulation of cross-border data transfers
  • Regional cooperation initiatives
  • Strategies in artificial intelligence and sandbox regulation
  • Introduction of the television and online media measurement (SG-TAM) system in Singapore

Both parties exchanged valuable information, opinions, and experiences, highlighting opportunities for further collaboration and mutual learning.

Following this, CRC representatives will participate in the AsiaTech x Singapore 2024 exhibition and the ATxSummit forum from May 29-31. The ATxSummit will cover discussions on artificial intelligence, governance and security, quantum computing, sustainability, and computing.
