A Meta delegation led by Senura Abeywardena, Head of Public Policy, Central Asia, visited Mongolia at the request of the Communications Regulatory Commission (CRC).

On April 22nd, 2024, Mr. Chinzorig Gonchig, Chairman and CEO of the CRC, along with other officials, met with Meta representatives to discuss collaborative efforts for the upcoming Parliamentary elections. The focus areas included the efficiency of the green channel (a streamlined process for political ads to be approved), cooperation within the Facebook environment to ensure compliance with the Parliamentary (Great Ikh Khural) election legislation, ensuring transparency, openness, and integrity of the election campaign, reducing misinformation and fake addresses, and international trends and Meta's evolving policies regarding online safety and integritThe discussions also covered international trends and Meta's evolving policies regarding online safety and integrity.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the General Election Commission, Meta representatives will conduct training sessions for political parties and media outlets. These sessions, aimed at promoting a transparent, accountable, and fair electoral process while upholding online human rights, will be held on April 25, 2024.
